Shipping policy
Sales of alcohol products are restricted by the New Zealand "Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012" to customers over the age of 18. Colony are licensed to sell alcohol, and our alcohol license can be viewed here.
All of our products are shipped from New Zealand, and we have been shipping our products internationally for over 20 years.
Freight is calculated and displayed within the Shopping Cart function, and will vary according to the weight and destination of your order.
Shipping times can vary given reduced freight capacity on various carriers, so please refer to the tracking link sent on order dispatch.
Import taxes / tariffs may apply in certain territories - we cannot apply these to your order and you may be asked to pay these separately before your shipment can be released. If you are unsure please check what the local requirements are as we are unable to take returns.
Within New Zealand
You should receive your order within 3 working days (deliveries may be delayed according to ferry sailing). If you have a particularly urgent need please just message or call us.
Australia
Yes - we do ship to Australia (with the exception of honey to Western Australia).
Australia also does not allow beeswax (e.g. Candles) to be imported.
Restricted Locations
Unfortunately we cannot ship honey to the following locations due to import restrictions:
- Western Australia
- Pacific Islands
- China
- South Africa
- Chile
(Please note that while NZ Post does not allow international shipping of honey from its retail outlets, however as a commercial customer Colony is able to ship using their international services.)
Bee Pollen is also a biosecurity restricted product in most countries, so we do not ship this internationally.
EU Delivery
Orders to European Union countries are shipped from Christchurch, New Zealand. Estimated delivery times to the EU are 7-15 working days from dispatch, depending on your country and local customs processing times.
Import Duties
Please note that international orders may be subject to import duties and taxes levied by your country's customs authority. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient. We recommend checking with your local customs office before ordering if you are unsure.
United States - suspension of shipping
We may be required to suspend shipping to the USA from time-to-time due to unexpected changes in international trade and tariff policies. Should an order be affected by this we will contact the customer within 48 hours and refund accordingly.
